ONE SITE BECOMES TWO
Oh!Boyd Jewelry needed a home of its own. The Oh!Boyd Enterprises catalog site was growing and growing, and it became time to tear the catalog in two. So here you have it, an easier to peruse online just jewelry catalog.
DEDICATION TO CRAFTSMANSHIP
I want people who buy my goods to, years from now, be able to say, “Oh, this old thing? I’ve had it for years!” Either that, or, “I guess I’ll have to throw this out. It finally wore out.” Fine crafts that last a long time simply require quality materials and doing all the steps - all the little details. I try not to skimp or take any shortcuts.
FROM MY HANDS TO YOURS
Unless you purchase one of the one-of-a-kind items that I do when I find some spare time, each piece you order is made when you order it. Nothing sits around here on shelves collecting dust. I make the items you order with you in mind. I enjoy every step of making each piece and hope a spirit of good will and peace is passed to your hands when you open your package.
WHERE/HOW WE LIVE
We recently moved from an old farmhouse in Taylors Falls, MN, a very beautiful part of the St. Croix River Valley back to our place "up north" - up north being relative to the fact that we live in Minnesota which is significantly north. But now we live again in the north woods in the small town of Wawina, MN, another very beautiful part of the state. We are nestled in the trees.
MY ROOM
My workroom is filled with the scent of leather. Well, that is because among the stackable drawers of beads, tools, tables, boxes, and bags, there is leather everywhere - rolls of leather, stacks of leather, leather draped over chairs, bins of leather, and tubs of leather. I work in a compact room with everything handy. Here, I have everything I need to do my work - a cutting station, sewing station, beading station, shipping station, and of course, the computer. I can sit and bead, make jewelry, and do my hand sewing in the window that overlooks large pine, black spruce, poplar, black ash, and lovely tamarack trees, an occassional red maple. I am fortunate to exist in such a wonderful environment, where work can be set aside once or twice a day for a walk in the woods.
